Kano State Governor “Dethrones Sanusi as Emir”

The Kano State governor has dethroned formal central bank governor Muhammadu Sanusi II, as Emir of Kano

This announcement was made by the secretary to Kano state government Usman Alhaji, after a meeting of the state’s executive council today Monday 9th 2020

Sanusi has been accused of insubordination and upright disobedience of the Kano state emirate laws and refusal to attend official meetings

It has been reported that Muhammadu Sanusi II removal followed after due consultancy with stakeholders, and was done to keep the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of the Kano Emirate

Going by part 3 Section 13 (a-e) of the Kano state emirate Law 2019 Sanusi was found wanting and his removal was done according to part 3 Section 13 of the State emirate law

The governor called for an emergency security meeting immediately after the removal of the emir

He has assured all Kano state residents to remain calm and go about there businesses

Meanwhile, no one has been named to assume the throne
