SUG President of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Arrested in Cultism Attire

The SUG president of federal polytechnic Ilaro Ogun State has been arrested by police in his cultism attire during their meeting following a foiled cult initiation attempt

According to reports by the police public relation officer of the state, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi the SUG president was arrested with another student during initiation of new members into black axe cult dressed in the full cult attire

The SUG president who is identified as Emmanuel Olatunji and his friend Olarewaju Taiwo were arrested on the 9th of February Saturday following information given to the police by men of community

The witness sighted the suspicious activity of the cultists and informed the police in Ilaro

The two cultist arrested have been taken to custody by the police division headquarter in Ilaro and are currently been interrogated Mr. Oyeyemi added

Following the arrest, the Federal Polytechnic authority issued a statement on Monday that the SUG president has been suspended

In a statement by the deputy registrar Mrs Sola Abiola says;

This is consequent upon the foiling of a meeting of some cult groups from the neighbouring community

by the security architecture and network of the Polytechnic, the local vigilante group in conjunction with Nigerian Police Force and the Directorate of State Security.

The suspension of Mr Adegboye is in line with the Act establishing the Polytechnic and the provision of the Students Handbook coupled with the Polytechnic’s zero tolerance to cultism

pending his appearance before the Students Disciplinary Committee to establish his culpability or otherwise” she added.
