Sex for Grades: University of Abuja Sack Professor, Dean and Demotes Others.

University of Abuja, (UniAbuja) have sack a professor, one college dean and demoted other lectures over various exam offences and sex for grades.

The university announced on Monday 16th December, 2019 via the head of information and public relation Dr. Habib Yakoob who said it was a unanimous decision after due diligence and considering reports from the disciplinary committee.

Abiodun was dismissed for involving in an inappropriate relationship with a female student, falsification of academic records and aiding and abetting of examination malpractice as it violets Section 16, subsection 3(c) of the University of Abuja Conditions of Service for Senior Staff (1999).

Habib added Prof. Agaptus Buzo- Chibuzor Orji of depertment of Science and Environmental Education, Faculty of Education, was dismissed for indulging in corruption and dishonesty as well as falsifying academic records and aiding and abetting of examination malpractice.

On the other hand  Dr Robert Dajal was demoted from being an Associate Professor to Senior Lecturer and Mr Gana Defian from Lecturer 1 to Assistant Lecturer after being found guilty of “various acts of misconduct and giving the university a bad image.

Dr. Habib Yakoob released the statement after the university’s 85the annual council meeting which was held on the 12th and 13th of December and stated the institution’s commitment to keeping high moral standards and take appropriate actions towards perpetrators.
